‘Open Day’ at Cottrell Park

| Diane Magner with her raffle prize |
Cottrell Park Golf Club recently held a very successful Open Day. Luckily, the weather on the day was wonderful and the course, as usual, was in pristine condition. Over 150 golfers entered the Shoot Your Joining Fee' competition and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Apart from the golf, the club organised a raffle where the lucky winners had a choice of excellent prizes. The first prize, nonetheless, was for one person to have the opportunity of the use of a "Super Car for a Week' - this, incidentally, was won by Mrs Diane Magner. Also attending on the day was Red Dragon Radio and American Golf who held club demonstration' sessions on the range.
In the Shoot Your Joining Fee competition Nick Roberts who shot 78 took first place from Jordon Ivory with a better back nine. Wayne Jones with a score of 80 came third. In the On the Course' competitions there were four Nearest the Pin winners. These winners were Mal Morgan (4th), Jeff Davies (8th), Peter Xerri (12th) and Jeremy Lovell (15th). The Longest Drive winner was Adam Mings on the eighteenth hole.
The Raffle was drawn at 8pm by Red Dragons very own Leigh Jones and the winners were:-
1st - Super Car for a Week - Mrs Diane Magner
2nd - A Nights Free Stay at Copthorne Hotel (+ tickets for their Musical Theatre Show - Mrs Ruth Price
3rd - Six Months Free Gym Membership at Cottrell Park - Mr Anthony Love
A great day was had by all who attended and Cottrell Park would like to extend their thanks to the Red Dragon Thunders and Leigh Jones for their help with Raffle and Questionnaires, and to American Golf for running the Club Demonstrations on the Range.
